It’s that sinking feeling in your stomach. You want to connect, but you’re afraid. There are stirrings, emotional and physical. But, your palms get sweaty and your heart is pounding just at the thought of it, you freeze. You feel like you’re going to pass out. You’re not alone. Intimacy Anxiety is real. Estimates are that 2 to 3 million people in the U.S. suffer from Intimacy Anxiety Disorder.*

Some of the symptoms of Intimacy Anxiety are loneliness, feeling left behind, social isolation, over-compensation, low self-esteem, depression, feelings of being unfulfilled, not having children or not getting married/partnered, never falling in love or experiencing the joys and health benefits of love, intimacy, and sex.

As the lead research and wellness center, IWIC is uniquely positioned to help not only those suffering from Intimacy Anxiety, but also those who simply desire greater intimacy and connection. We have assembled a team of highly specialized professionals who each bring their expertise to benefit our clients.

I remember a 43-year-old client who had never held hands with anyone came to us completely defeated and hopeless. The idea of a fulfilling, long-term romantic and sexual relationship seemed completely alien. After years of loneliness, and within 5 months, this client found a partner, is confident, optimistic, feeling fulfilled, and experiencing joy and happiness. The program is a success. There are many others we’ve helped to experience the same kinds of success.

Our approach is research-based, utilizes a client-centric and experiential approach. We help develop healthy intimacy for a happier life.

If you or someone you know has feelings of isolation, loneliness, or just not feeling completely joyful intimacy, please book a consultation. We can help.
